Progress and Ready to bid the house!

Well, after many back and forth drawing revisions, we now have drawings ready to go to contractors to bid the house.  I will drive over tomorrow, meet the structural engineer to get his stamped drawings and certification, then go turn in the drawings and building permit application, (along with a ton of other documents).

I then hope to meet with contractors at the lot to deliver drawings and bid specs.

This week I also finally got the DMR permit to build the bulkhead and boat docks, after getting the US Crops of Engrs approval a few weeks ago.  I just found out I also need something from the Secretary of State.  It's wonder anyone builds anything on the water when you have to jump through all these hoops.  Apparently, the Secy of State manages the water rights, so I may need a lease to put a dock over the water.

I also got a tree service lined up to take out some pine trees that are near the house site.  I hate taking out trees, but would hate having one go through the roof in a storm.  Katrina taught alot of people that pines are not your friends in a storm.
